Bryce’s parents live in Laguna Niguel, Orange County, California. They moved from Illinois to California when Bryce was in high school. Bryce had a large circle of friends, ranging from fellow students to family. He was a very social person, who was always eager to socialize. He also enjoyed video games, sports, and outdoor activities. He was a talented artist, who displayed artistic abilities early on.
Bryce was also interested in learning how to use computers, especially in graphic design. He was also very excited about starting his sophomore year at Sierra College. He was looking forward to studying graphic and industrial design.
Behaviors that led to his disappearance
Several weeks before Bryce disappeared, his friends were concerned about his strange behavior. They believed he may have suffered a psychotic break. Bryce had been taking ADHD drugs, which can cause some unfavorable side effects. In addition, Bryce was taking hard liquor. He also gave away valuable possessions before he disappeared.

Car found abandoned in a ravine
During the night of August 29, 2013, Bryce Laspia was on his way home to his family’s home in Laguna Niguel, California. He was driving on Interstate 5 when he ran out of gas. He called his mother and told her that he was going to pull over and sleep. Then, he would call her back in the morning.
Several hours later, Bryce’s car was found abandoned near Castaic Lake. His belongings were inside the car. The car was found in a ravine that was 15 feet deep on the passenger side.
