Who Was the Most Successful Male Artist of the 80s?

The 1980s were a decade of huge hits for many male artists, including Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Rick Astley, and Don Henley. Some of the best-known albums in the decade were No Jacket Required and Face Value. These albums were huge hits, selling over 25 million copies each. Without these albums, the 80s wouldn’t have been what it was.

Stevie Wonder

Stevie Wonder is one of the most successful male artists of all time. He is second only to Elvis in number of US Top 40 entries and in combined album sales. He is the best-selling male artist of the 80s, having sold over 33 million records. He is also the most prolific songwriter in history, having written over 100 million songs, most of which are still popular today.

Stevie Wonder’s popularity is a testament to his musical ability, and his social activism. He helped lead the successful campaign to make Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday a national holiday. He has won many awards, including the Grammy, and is a member of the Songwriters Hall of Fame. He has also been inducted into the Rhythm and Blues Music Hall of Fame. His songs have been performed on TV shows, film soundtracks, and movies, and he has spoken on political and social causes.

Michael Jackson

Michael Jackson became the most popular male artist of the 80s in the early 1980s with the release of his landmark album, Thriller. It won eight Grammy Awards and stayed on the charts for more than two years. The album also sold more than 40 million copies. Many of the tracks are considered classics. Some of the album’s greatest hits include “Billie Jean,” a duet with Paul McCartney, and “Beat It,” which featured a lead vocal performance by Eddie Van Halen.

While Michael Jackson is considered the “King of Pop,” his catalog includes more No. 1 hits than any other male artist in history. In fact, his album catalog boasts a legendary breadth and depth. Thriller is the only album to reach the top spot of the Billboard 200 chart for a period of 37 weeks. Michael Jackson’s career also includes collaborations with Janet Jackson.

Rick Astley

As one of the most successful British artists of the 1980s, Rick Astley achieved massive success in the US market with his first number one single, “Together Forever”. His second Number One single “Together Forever” consolidated his success in the US market and earned him a Grammy nomination. After the success of his first album, Rick Astley’s second album, “Rick Astley and the Nightriders”, was delayed by a fire in the PWL studios. Astley’s third album, “Rick”, reached No 9 in the UK, and No 31 in the US.

Despite the emergence of new artists on the UK music scene, the biggest selling album of the decade was “Never Gonna Give You Up” by Rick Astley. His subsequent singles failed to make a dent in the U.S. market, so the album was released in the U.S. this week. During a recent interview with Michel Martin on NPR, Astley spoke about his new album and the surprise success that has come his way. He also discussed his journey from obscurity to superstardom in the ’80s.

Don Henley

Although he may be best known for his work with the Eagles, Don Henley has been a solo artist since the early ’80s. His first solo album, Building the Perfect Beast, contained a number of hit singles, including “Dirty Laundry.” In 1989, he released his second solo album, The End of Innocence, which included three more hit singles.

Born in Linden, Texas, Don Henley developed his love for music at an early age. While growing up, he was inspired by country music and the Beatles. He later attended Stephen F. Austin University and North Texas State University and played in the band Shiloh. After graduating from college, he worked with Kenny Rogers and recorded an album with him.

Rob Rilatus

Rob Rilatus’ success was largely due to the ’80s’ music scene. He had a string of hit singles, including “Hold on to the Night,” “Right Here Waiting,” and “Million Dollar Baby.” In addition to his music, he was also a prolific songwriter, with a number of singles hitting the top of the charts during the decade.

However, he was not without troubles. In 1996, he was arrested on suspicion of assault and attempted robbery. In one incident, he beat a man with a lamp’s metal base. Another involved him attacking a car owner who accused him of stealing his watch. Although he was convicted, he was sentenced to 90 days in jail. Unfortunately, he died from an overdose of prescription pills and alcohol.

Morvan

While many of the 80s’ biggest artists were women, there were many men who were female. One such man was Fab Morvan. He had a strong singing voice and was known to be the most successful male artist of the decade. However, he turned to drugs and crime after his debacle. He was sentenced to three months in jail and six months in a drug rehab facility. Although he was later bailed out, he died of an apparent overdose in a hotel room in Frankfurt, Germany. He was only 32 years old at the time of his death. In the years that followed, Fab Morvan had become a session musician, and his debut solo album, Love Revolution, was released in 2003.

Another successful male artist of the 80s was Bryan Adams. He is one of the most prolific songwriters and singers of the decade. He has released numerous albums and singles, and has appeared on more than ten Hollywood movies. His music has received praise for humanitarian causes, as well.
