Chris Pratt started as a waiter at Bubba Gump Shrimp Company on Maui. A film director named Rae Dawn Chong discovered Pratt and cast him in the short horror film “Cursed Part 3.” Later, he joined the cast of “The O.C.” for the fourth season. Afterward, he appeared in several movies and television roles.
Take Me Home Tonight
The plot of Chris Pratt’s first movie is pretty familiar, but it’s also a little different from his previous efforts. While it’s not an overly dirty, racy film, it’s not entirely clean either, balancing between an innocent farce and a racy free-for-all. Nonetheless, Pratt’s first film is an interesting experience, and he’s certainly growing as an actor.
In ‘Take Me Home Tonight’, Pratt plays a recent college graduate who goes home one night to a cocaine-filled party. While the premise sounds like a classic ’80s film, there’s a bit of a modern twist. Pratt’s character, Matt Franklin, recently graduated from MIT, works at a video shop in a Los Angeles mall, and still lives with his parents.
Wendy’s boyfriend Kyle (Christopher Pratt) is throwing his annual house party and many of his old school friends are invited. Tori Frederking, his old crush from high school, is one of the guests. Wendy Palmer, his twin sister, and Barry, his best friend, are also planning on attending the party.
Anna Faris, meanwhile, is Chris Pratt’s longtime love interest. The two met on the set of Take Me Home Tonight in 2007. Anna Faris was already married when Pratt met her, so Pratt thought he was off-limits.
‘Moneyball’
Since being cast as the dejected baseball player Scott Hatteberg in the critically acclaimed “Moneyball,” Chris Pratt has been busy in the acting industry. The actor has played everything from goofball Andy Dwyer on “Parks and Recreation” to the enigmatic general manager of the Oakland Athletics, Bill Beane. According to The Movie Database, Moneyball scored a 7.1 rating. During the production of the film, Pratt had lost 30 pounds.
Then, Pratt starred in a sequel to ‘Moneyball’, and in an animated film, The Lego Movie. His next film will be ‘Onward’, a story about two elven brothers trying to bring back their father.
Before joining the Hollywood scene, Pratt appeared in several smaller movies. In 2005, he starred in ‘Strangers With Candy’ and ‘Wanted.’ He also starred in Bride Wars, ‘Zero Dark Thirty’, and ‘Moneyball.’ In addition to his first movie, he has appeared in several other films, including ‘Moneyball’ and ‘Wildlife.’
The actor had already played baseball during his childhood, and he learned how to bat left-handed for the role. In addition to baseball, he was also involved in track, football, and wrestling. After getting married to Anna Faris, Pratt and Faris have a son named Jack.
After his successful role in ‘Moneyball,’ Chris Pratt was cast in a variety of roles in television series. In addition to ‘Moneyball,’ he starred in a recurring role in The O.C. season finale, and starred in ‘Parks and Recreation’ from 2009 to 2015. ‘Parks and Recreation’ became a cult favorite and was Pratt’s breakthrough role.
‘Captain America’
Chris Pratt was not the first actor to try out for the role of Captain America. His audition for the role was turned down by James Gunn, but a casting director named Carolyn Finn convinced him to audition for the role. Finn said she was surprised by his performance and that it felt like a “eureka moment” for her.
Though he was not the first actor to audition for the role, Chris Pratt has gained legions of fans as the Guardians of the Galaxy hero. Although the role of Captain America is immortalized by Chris Evans, Pratt’s nerdy nature was evident and his determination to play the part was obvious. In addition, his friend Sarah Dunant played a major role in getting him the role. She convinced director James Gunn to give Pratt the chance to audition, and that’s how the actor got the role.
Before playing Captain America, Pratt was a relatively unknown actor. However, he did have some good acting experience. He had been a part of The TRON movies as Sam Flynn, but the studio was not keen on using him for the role. He went on to appear in such films as One Shot and Lady of the Manor. He was also cast in a short film called Wish Upon.
After ending Avengers: Endgame as Captain America, Pratt will lead the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. The film will be released in 2022. Fans can subscribe to Disney Plus to see it before it becomes available in theaters.
