Laspisa’s parents believed that Bryce was driving to his Rocklin apartment, about 90 minutes from the girlfriend’s house. He had been spending the summer with them. They planned to see him in the morning. But around 11:30 p.m. Laspisa didn’t answer his phone.

On August 29, Bryce left Kim’s apartment at 11:30 p.m. He was wearing a blue and white checkered t-shirt and white cargo shorts. He also had a Taurus bullhead tattoo on his upper left arm.
Then Bryce called his mother at 1 a.m. The call woke up his mother, who assumed it was to let her know he was safe. The phone records showed that Bryce called from a location south of Rocklin.
He was last seen wearing size 12 red and white Nike shoes. He also left his wallet, cellphone and laptop inside the car. A search dog was used to track his scent to a nearby truck stop. But the body was not Bryce, but Lamondre Miles of South Los Angeles. The DNA test confirmed that Bryce was not the body found.
Unsolved mystery
