Leach has a strong background in law, graduating from Pepperdine University. However, he decided to follow his passion for college football and became a coach instead.
He has had tremendous success at Texas Tech, where his teams have won in all of his 10 seasons. His current team at Washington State is also doing well.

Janeen Clark is a Family Medicine Specialist in Morrow, GA and has been practicing for over a decade. She graduated from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, Paul L. Foster School of Medicine and completed a residency at Atlanta Medical Center. She is rated highly by her patients and accepts multiple insurance plans, including Medicare.

She is a former assistant athletic director for Washington State football and has a passion for travel. Her other hobbies include photography and cooking. She is a lifelong fan of the Houston Rockets and Dallas Cowboys.
She is married to Mike Clark
Mike Clark was an assistant coach for the Princeton and Rowan University football teams. He was also the head coach of Mississippi State’s football team. He led the Bulldogs to an 8-4 record, including a 24-22 victory over Mississippi in the Egg Bowl.
He was known for his pass-happy offense and wide-ranging interests, from writing a book about Native American leader Geronimo to traveling the world. He considered himself an “adventurer,” and he often veered off topic at news conferences.
He and his wife Sharon had four children, Janeen, Kimberly, Cody and Kiersten. Upon his passing, the family built a memorial bench on their property overlooking Clarks Willow Lake. They hope the bench will encourage others to live adventurously. He is survived by his family, friends and many colleagues. He was a beloved community member and philanthropist who supported numerous charities and foundations. He is a past president of the board of directors for Catholic Charities of Pittsburgh and the Mother’s Hope Foundation. He also served on the boards of ALS Association and Genesis of Pittsburgh.

After retiring from college football, Mike Leach became a family medicine specialist and moved to Lubbock with his wife, Sharon. He and Sharon have three children: Janeen, Kimberly, and Kiersten. They live in a large apartment complex in Lubbock.
His teams at Texas Tech were renowned for their prolific passing offenses and won multiple conference championships under his leadership. He also received three national coach of the year awards and led the Red Raiders to eight consecutive winning seasons.
Despite this success, his career was not without controversy. He clashed with the administration at Texas Tech and was eventually fired in 2009 for mistreating a player. He later sued ESPN and Craig James for wrongful termination, but his lawsuit was ultimately dismissed. He also endorsed Donald Trump for president, and his interviews often veered off into politics or hypothetical mascot fights. His wide-ranging interests also included writing a book about Native American leader Geronimo and teaching a class on insurgent warfare.
She has two children
Sharon Smith Leach has been married to Mike Leach for over three decades. They have two children, Kimberly and Kiersten, and one grandson. They met when they both attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. According to a 2012 Seattle Times article, they were friends for awhile before they started dating. Sharon’s sister was married to one of Mike’s former roommates, and that’s how they got to know each other.
Leach revived WSU’s program, winning 55 games over eight seasons – the highest total in school history. He is also known for creating the Air Raid offense, and he’s been no stranger to controversy. He has clashed with administrators, including suing Texas Tech for wrongful termination in 2000.
Outside of football, he has written books and taught courses. He also has a fascination with pirates and once used a noose in a lecture to his players. He has a deep understanding of the importance of family and has a strong work ethic.
